The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints
What other skill perks are particularly useful to get?
1 of 5: Besides the ones you've already gotten for Heavy Armor, Alteration, and the three crafting skills, there are several that I would recommended for any character.
2 of 5: Archery is an important skill for anyone to practice up and get perks for. Its Overdraw (5 ranks), Eagle Eye, Steady Hand (2 ranks), and Quick Shot perks are particularly useful. Also get the Sneak skill's Deadly Aim perk.
3 of 5: For the Pickpocket skill, get the Extra Pockets perk to increase your carrying capacity by 100, and the Poisoned perk so you can pickpocket poisons into people's inventories to kill them without having to fight them. (Note that you may still get a bounty if anyone sees them die.)
4 of 5: For the Speech skill, take the Merchant perk so you can sell any type of item to any merchant, the Investor and Master Trader perks to increase merchants' gold supplies, and the Fence perk so you can sell stolen items to any merchant you've invested in. These will be a fairly low priority, but can all be generally useful throughout the game.
5 of 5: If you use magic spells a lot (which you probably will with Conjuration and Restoration spells, at least), get both ranks of the Restoration skill's Recovery perk to make your magicka regenerate even faster. The Avoid Death perk is also a great one if you can get your Restoration skill up to 90.
