Kill the Emperor.
1 of 2: If you had Gianna put the jarrin root in the potage, all you have to do is wait until the Emperor eats the potage and dies. (TIP: Before that happens, crouch down next to the locked door that's a short way south of the dining table.)
2 of 2: If you decided to save the jarrin root, you'll need to get out your best weapon and power-attack the Emperor to kill him.
