The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints
Investigate Shroud Hearth Barrow.
1 of 7: Talk to Wilhelm in Ivarstead's inn about the barrow and agree to investigate it, then go enter the barrow.
2 of 7: Go down to where a ghost on the other side of a closed gate warns you to leave, then figure out how to open the gate.
3 of 7: Past it is another closed gate, but all you have to do is use the pull chain that's next to it, then wait for a spear trap to go off.
4 of 7: Open the left of the two iron doors to find the room where the "ghost" that you saw earlier hangs out.
5 of 7: He'll be hostile, so kill him, then search him to find a Philter of the Phantom potion that explains how he was able to appear ghostly.
6 of 7: Look on the table in his room to find another Philter of the Phantom and his journal. (Note that the two philters aren't needed for this or any other quest, and have no special purpose.)
7 of 7: Take the journal and return to Wilhelm in the inn to exchange it for a Sapphire Dragon Claw. That concludes the quest, but there's a Word Wall in the barrow that you might want to go for.
