The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints
Finding the Word in Shriekwind.
1 of 8: Use the entrance at the South Shriekwind Bastion location, then make your way south to where a pull chain can be used to open a secret door.
2 of 8: Turn right past it and go through an iron door to get to the area's huge central cavern.
3 of 8: Bash the nearby skeleton, then go along the narrow walkway until you reach a pedestal with a handle on top of it.
4 of 8: You could use it to open the gate that's ahead, but doing so would also set off some flame traps. Instead, look to the right of the pedestal for a pull chain on the wall.
5 of 8: Use it to open the gate, then go through it and some doors to reach a master vampire's room.
6 of 8: Kill the vamp, then go to the back of his area and climb the spiral staircase that's inside the circular stone structure.
7 of 8: Past it is the room with the Word Wall in it, but watch out for a draugr breaking out of a sarcophagus as you approach.
8 of 8: Look to the right of the Word Wall for a short passage that leads to a door that goes outside.
