The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints
How can I open the puzzle door?
of 12: Notice that it has an interactive center circle labeled "keyhole."
of 12: There's a design on the keyhole that looks like a large claw, so look around for something like that.
of 12: There's a claw-like item called Iron Claw on the pedestal in the middle of the room. Try picking it up and then using the keyhole. (Note that taking the claw triggers some flame-spewing traps, so retreat quickly.)
of 12: You'll find that the Iron Claw item fits into the keyhole. However, that won't open the door.
of 12: Examining the door for other interactive items, you'll see that it has three stone rings on it that can be rotated.
of 12: Each ring has symbols for a wolf, a dragon, and a hawk. They must act as the door's three-"digit" combination lock.
of 12: Unfortunately, the combo isn't conveniently engraved on the walls anywhere. You'll have to find it somewhere else.
of 12: The Iron Claw item that fits into the door's keyhole might have a clue on it.
of 12: Go to the "misc" section of your inventory and click on the Iron Claw item, then click and drag on its picture to rotate it.
of 12: Get it to where you can see the three symbols engraved on it, then use them to set the door's three rings correctly.
of 12: Set the top ring to the dragon symbol, the middle ring to the hawk symbol, and the bottom ring to the wolf symbol.
of 12: You can then use the keyhole to get the door open.
