The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints
Destroy Malkoran.
1 of 4: Malkoran has several corrupted shades with him, so try to sneak up to where you can shoot down a couple of them unseen.
2 of 4: After that, use retreat-and-fire tactics on the rest of the shades as they come after you. The door that opened when you used the pedestal will be closed and locked now, but backing all the way up to it should give you time to finish off the shades.
3 of 4: Once Malkoran is alone, you might want to sprint back down the passage to his room for more maneuvering space. It can also help to get him interested in attacking a follower or summoned creature.
4 of 4: Unfortunately, killing Malkoran doesn't end it. As soon as he dies, you'll be attacked by his fireball-casting shade. You'll need to finish it off before you get the next objective. (If it "freezes" and becomes immune to physical damage, start using Destruction spells on it.)
