The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints

Looking for lunar weapons.

  • 1 of 9: Approach Silent Moons Camp from the south, then hang back and lure the outdoor bandits to you a few at a time.
  • 2 of 9: After you finish them off, go up the stairs to the north end of the ruins, then go around to where you can enter the circular blacksmith's forge area.
  • 3 of 9: Look on the workbench and the grindstone to find two random lunar weapons. Note that one or both of them may randomly not be there, especially if you're very low-level.
  • 4 of 9: Also on the workbench are a Smithing skill book and a book about the lunar forge. The lunar forge book indicates that the nearby forge can be used to make lunar weapons, and that lunar weapons will absorb health from enemies when the moons are out.
  • 5 of 9: Unfortunately, neither of those claims is true. I was never able to make weapons at that forge that were any different from the ones I could make at other forges. Also, lunar weapons only do extra damage to enemies when the moons are out (9 pm to 5 am) without adding to your health.
  • 6 of 9: Go back down the stairs until you can get onto the top of a stone structure on your left, then go across it to find a narrow stone walkway.
  • 7 of 9: Follow the walkway to where you can drop down onto a board floor with a big hole in the middle. Look on a table to find another random lunar weapon, then drop through the floor hole.
  • 8 of 9: Use the trap door to enter the interior area, then look for a fourth lunar weapon on the bottom of one of the sets of shelves.
  • 9 of 9: You can then use the lever on the wall to open the locked doors so you can explore the rest of the interior area, or you can go back up the ladder and use the pull chain on the wall to open a gate.
