The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints
Kill the dragon in [random dragon lair].
1 of 5: Travel to the dragon lair that was randomly chosen, checking the World Map Exploration Guide if you need directions.
2 of 5: When you arrive, you'll find that some or all of the followers you had inducted into the Blades are already there.
3 of 5: However, you may also find that there's no dragon there. The game doesn't bother to make sure a dragon is present, and if one isn't, this objective will permanently stall.
4 of 5: If one is there, you can either help your Blades pals finish it off, or hide somewhere nearby and let them do all the work.
5 of 5: After the dragon dies, you'll get the "Return to Esbern" objective.
