Missing: One Alembic.
1 of 5: After you return with the books for the "Hitting the Books" main-line quest, Tolfdir will be back in the Hall of the Elements.
2 of 5: Talk to him and say that he looks like he could use a hand, and he'll ask you to find his missing alembic.
3 of 5: It'll be in a random location within the Hall of Countenance.
4 of 5: Try looking on top of the barrels in the upstairs dining room, under a display case in the upstairs room with the Arcane Enchanter table, and on a crate in the ground-floor storage room.
5 of 5: Take the alembic and go tell Tolfdir that you found what he was looking for. He'll give you some gold and a random soul gem as a reward.
