Missing: Four Apprentices.
1 of 3: Talk to Phinis Gestor in the Hall of Countenance about missing apprentices to learn of four that haven't returned yet. (If he doesn't have that conversation option, try him again later. Also, try hanging out in the Hall of the Elements, where he sometimes gives a little speech that includes a bit about the missing apprentices.)
2 of 3: You can find all four of the apprentices dead in the Winterhold region, each with a unique item that you can use to prove you found him.
