The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints
(Optional) Discover leverage to sway Niranye.
1 of 8: To find the leverage you need, take Torsten's suggestion of searching Niranye's house.
2 of 8: Pickpocket Niranye's house key if you don't want to lockpick your way in, then go find her house just east of the city's main gate.
3 of 8: Go inside, then search the place thoroughly to find absolutely nothing of interest. Perhaps there's a secret room, or something.
4 of 8: Check all of the walls for hidden panels.
5 of 8: There's one in the southern wall of the eastern room. Move up to it and activate it to open it.
6 of 8: Go down the stairs past it and pick open the lock on the basement door. (Unfortunately, there's no key for it.)
7 of 8: Look for a safe in the basement, then pick it open. (Or go pickpocket the Darkwater Pit key from Niranye, since it'll open the safe.)
8 of 8: Take the "first letter from Linwe" note from the safe to finish this objective.
