The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints

Archery practice with Angi.

  • 1 of 12: Go to Angi's Camp and talk to Angi. After telling her to calm down, ask what the targets are for, then agree to do some archery practice.
  • 2 of 12: If you don't have a bow, get the hunting bow that's to the left of her cabin door. Also pick up the practice arrows that are near it.
  • 3 of 12: Follow her to the archery target area, then wait as she fires a couple of arrows at the middle target.
  • 4 of 12: When she tells you to hit the middle target, get out your bow and equip the practice arrows. If you didn't pick up the ones near the cabin, talk to Angi and say you don't have any.
  • 5 of 12: Move up next to the wooden railing and fire an arrow at the target that's at the top of the nearest post. When you hit it, your Archery skill will go up one point. (Note that you can aim at the center of the target to hit it since it's so close.)
  • 6 of 12: Next, she'll ask you to hit the target on the left post, followed by the one on the right post. Each target is a bit farther away than the previous one, but you can still aim right at the target's center to pretty much guarantee a hit. Or if that doesn't work, aim at a spot near the bottom of the target.
  • 7 of 12: After that, go reclaim your practice arrows from near the targets to make sure you have enough, then talk to Angi again for more practice. She'll fire arrows at the three target posts in rapid succession, then she'll ask you to do the same.
  • 8 of 12: Get in position and draw an arrow back when she says to "draw string," then take aim at one of the targets so you can let an arrow fly right after she says "go." Note that it doesn't matter what order you hit the targets in, and they're no harder to hit than they were before. If your time runs out before you hit them all, talk to Angi and say you want to try again.
  • 9 of 12: TIP: The "Slow Time" shout can be useful for this and the next timed test. See the Shouts List to find out how to get it.
  • 10 of 12: For the next practice session, Angi will want you to hit the target on the post that's way back behind a large snow-covered rock. In order to do that, you'll need to aim high. Try aiming at the center of the darker ground that's "above" the target.
  • 11 of 12: The final practice session is extremely hard, since you have only 10 seconds to hit all four targets (in any order). I suggest hitting the nearest three first, since those are fairly easy, then firing arrows at the farthest target until Angi either says you did it or that your time's up.
  • 12 of 12: Once you finish that challenge, you're through practicing with Angi. Talk to her about practice to get her unique (yet unremarkable) bow. The main reward is the six Archery skill points that you gained during the practice sessions.
