The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints
Murder Erandur or Allow Erandur to complete his ritual.
1 of 3: Vaermina is lying when she says Erandur will turn on you if you let him complete the ritual. However, you still might want to consider killing him.
2 of 3: If you kill him, you'll be able to claim the Skull of Corruption for yourself. If you wait until he completes the ritual, he'll become a follower, but the Skull of Corruption will be destroyed.
3 of 3: If you want the skull, crouch down and hit Erandur with your best sneak attack, then finish him off if necessary. When he dies, you'll get the "Take the Skull of Corruption" objective. If you'd rather have him as a follower, just wait until you get the "Speak to Erandur" objective.
