The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints
Find evidence about Nepos.
1 of 8: Optionally return to the Shrine of Talos and talk to Eltrys about the investigation to get some gold, then find Nepos' house.
2 of 8: WARNING: Entering Nepos' house will be the "beginning of the end" for this quest, and you won't be able to speak to Eltrys any more. If you haven't already investigated Margret and gotten a reward from Eltrys for doing so, you may want to do that now.
3 of 8: Enter Nepos' house and move forward to get Uaile to talk to you.
4 of 8: Tell her you're there to see Nepos, then wait until you hear Nepos' voice say it's okay.
5 of 8: Go up some steps and turn right to find Nepos sitting next to a fire, then talk to him about Weylin and the forsworn.
6 of 8: After the conversation ends, Nepos and his entire household will attack you. Kill them all to finish up this line of investigation.
7 of 8: TIP: You can avoid this fight by sneakily pickpocketing Nepos' journal. Doing so will get you the "Read Nepos's Journal" objective.
8 of 8: You can then work on the Margret investigation if you want, but it's not necessary or particularly profitable. Return to the Shrine of Talos and talk to the guards inside, then choose to go quietly to finish this quest and get the "No One Escapes Cidhna Mine" quest.
