The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints
Defeat the Guardian Mammoth.
1 of 3: Travel to the Lorieus Farm (see the Whiterun section of the World Map Exploration Guide), then go west from it until you reach some rocks overlooking a mammoth's graveyard.
2 of 3: Move around on the rocks until the large, ghostly mammoth spirit appears, then start hitting it with ranged attacks.
3 of 3: It's fairly slow and clumsy, so you should be able to maneuver around on the rocks to avoid its attacks while taking it down at range.
