The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints

Kill the master vampire.

  • 1 of 8: Exit Highmoon Hall to find an angry mob of villagers, then wait for them to start off to the north. (If they don't after awhile, head north a ways to get them going.)
  • 2 of 8: Follow them along until you reach Movarth's Lair, then talk to Thonnir and decide whether or not you want him to go into the lair with you. (Everyone else will chicken out and return to Morthal.) Thonnir isn't much of a fighter, and you'd be better off with a regular follower -- or maybe no follower at all if you want to use sneaky tactics, which are highly recommended.
  • 3 of 8: Enter the lair and kill the two frostbite spiders in the first cave room, then sneak into the second cave room and hit the seated vampire thrall with a sneak attack.
  • 4 of 8: Use the tunnel that starts to the left of the thrall's table to reach a large cavern, where another thrall is in a small pit with several dead bodies.
  • 5 of 8: After you kill him, go to the cavern's northern exit, then sneak up the slanty ground on the left so you can get onto the board walkway.
  • 6 of 8: Sneak over to where you can just barely see Movarth Piquine seated at the head of his gross banquet table, then hit him with a sneaky arrow.
  • 7 of 8: If you then move up against the wall and stay still, it's likely that neither Movarth nor his minions will detect you. Wait until they stop searching for you, then hit Movarth with another sneaky arrow.
  • 8 of 8: You'll get the next objective when Movarth is killed, and can then sneak back out of the cave if you don't want to kill any more vampires.
