Talk to Mralki about Erik.
1 of 4: Enter Rorikstead's Frostfruit Inn and ask Erik what he needs, then agree to see what you can do. (If he's not in the inn, check outside in one of the fields.)
2 of 4: Talk to Mralki about his son choosing the life he wants, then try to persuade or intimidate him. If that fails, bribe him.
3 of 4: Talk to Erik about his father changing his mind, then leave Rorikstead and return.
4 of 4: Find Erik the Slayer in the inn and talk to him to learn that he's now a hireling, meaning he'll become a follower if you pay him 500 gold.
