The Space Bar Hints
How can I fix the clock?
of 12: The first thing to do is to discover what's wrong with it.
of 12: Have Thud climb the clocktower, then come back down and report on what he saw.
of 12: He describes four buttons--red, blue, green, and yellow, and a lever.
of 12: If Thud pushes the yellow button, a status report is printed, describing what is wrong with the clock.
of 12: The status report shows several four Os and 1 X.
of 12: Apparently, one part of the clock mechanism is malfunctioning.
of 12: To get into the clock's access panel, have Thud climb the tower, push the red button, and then pull the lever. This will allow him to manipulate the crystals inside. When Thud comes back down, he'll bring all the crystals with him.
of 12: Now, you just need to replace the defective crystal.
of 12: Have Thud replace crystal 1 in the first slot, crystal 2 in the second slot, and so on. When he comes to the slot where the defective crystal was, have him put the replacement crystal in instead. When all the crystals are inside, have Thud pull the lever.
of 12: If he pushes the yellow button to get another status report, all the slots should read O. If they don't, you'll need to try again.
of 12: Once the clock mechanism is repaired, just push the green button then the blue button. This will reset the clock.
