Spellbreaker Hints
How do I determine which cube I need?
of 11: BLORPLE, while a handy spell, isn't very useful here. You don't have time to test each cube to see which one is the correct one. You can only cast three spells before you are discovered in the Outer Vault, then you only have two turns before you are killed.
of 11: So, instead of using BLORPLE, you'll need to use another spell, one that gives you information about how magical an object might be.
of 11: Specifically, JINDAK.
of 11: When you cast JINDAK, the pile with the cube you want will glow differently from the other pile.
of 11: However, the cube you want might not necessarily glow brighter; it might glow dimmer.
of 11: You need to use the process of elimination to determine which pile the correct cube is, and then eliminate as many cubes as possible until you have found the one you want.
of 11: With just two piles available, though, you would need more turns (and spells) than you have time for to figure out the puzzle.
of 11: The first thing to do is create what is, essentially, a third pile. Take four of the cubes (two from each pile) so you have three equal piles. Cast JINDAK.
of 11: Examine how the cubes in the two piles glow. If they glow with equal brightness, you know the cube you want must be one of the ones you are carrying. If the piles on the floor do not glow equally, the cube you want must be in one of those piles.
of 11: Then, rearrange the piles, ignoring the cubes you have managed to eliminate. Then, JINDAK again. Then, do it one more time, this time with one cube on each of the two piles. This time, you should be able to determine which is the correct cube. Then, take it and BLORPLE it.
of 11: If you end up in the Nondescript Room, you BLORPLEd the wrong cube.
