System Shock 2 Hints
How can I kill the red cyborg assassins?
1 of 6: They are programmed to run and "hide" as soon as you get near them.
2 of 6: In general, hiding means that they will stand out in the open in another room, so they're not all that hard to track down. But you still do have to fight them.
3 of 6: You are best using some kind of armor-piercing or maybe EMP-based weapon against these cyborgs, just as you are with any other cyborg. Anti-personnel and incendiary weapons do not work well. If all you have are psi powers, then use whatever attacks you have.
4 of 6: You should try to get off a few shots before the cyborgs notice you. They will usually start running (and usually not attack you while running) as soon as you hit them, so you'll still probably have to chase them down, but at least the cyborgs will be weaker when you finally corner them.
5 of 6: You can sometimes strafe out of the way of the assassins' attacks, especially if you are standing far away. Using melee weapons against the assassins is not recommended, since you'll have no room to dodge.
6 of 6: A good speed rating (improved with a SwiftBoost implant or speed hypo, if necessary) will also help you chase the cyborgs and dodge their attacks.
