System Shock 2 Hints

How can I get across the hull breach?

  • 1 of 9: Listen to one of the logs near the hull breach (which you can find near the start of the level, in the room just past the fuel cells) for a hint.
  • 2 of 9: You might be able to cross the support struts to get to the room on the other side of that breach.
  • 3 of 9: One of the buttons is in Support Control Room A -- which is on the near side of the hull breach.  Press it to extend the two struts running in the same direction that you need to travel to reach the other side of the breach.
  • 4 of 9: Unfortunately, there's still a big gap that you're going to have a very hard time jumping across (if you can do it at all).
  • 5 of 9: You may want to try extending another strut.
  • 6 of 9: Get to Support Control Room B.
  • 7 of 9: There is a button in Support Control Room B that will extend a strut perpendicular to the other two.
  • 8 of 9: Now, if you get can across the pipes in the fuel cell room, you can walk onto that perpendicular strut.
  • 9 of 9: From that perpendicular strut, turn to your right and jump onto the strut in front of you.  It should be close enough that the jump will be safe, but it wouldn't hurt to save your game just in case you miss the jump and die.  You will now be able to walk across this strut into the room on the "other side" of the hull breach.
