Star Trek: 25th Anniversary Hints
Can I access the computer's libraries?
of 8: Of course.
of 8: You should first probably have Spock examine the large sphere with his tricorder to see what he can make out of it.
of 8: But before you can decode the data in the spheres, you'll need to know a bit about the alien's culture.
of 8: That information can be found on the bridge.
of 8: Have Spock use the left chair on the bridge to learn about the alien's fixation on certain numbers (especially 3).
of 8: Then Spock can use his tricorder on the sphere again. McCoy will offer his tricorder as well, and you'll download the information.
of 8: But it might be nice to store the information in a more dedicated device.
of 8: Use the small yellow sphere (from the cargo bay) on the large sphere here in the computer room to make a backup of the data in the computer.
