Star Trek: A Final Unity Hints
How can I explore the biotopes?
of 10: You'll first need to find equipment suited for such exploration.
of 10: Get the field units out of Dr. Hyunh-Foertsch's lab. They're sitting in the back of that room.
of 10: Look at them, and you'll find out what each field unit is best suited for. Each unit is programmed for one of the biotopes that you can reach.
of 10: Before you can use the field units, you need to activate the kiosks, so that you'll have some idea of what it is that you're exploring.
of 10: All you need is a portable power source.
of 10: Walk to the shuttle bay, and you'll find a microgenerator sitting in a charging unit. Take it and use it in the power ports of any of the kiosks. (If it ever runs out of power, you can always take the generator back and put it back in its charging station.)
of 10: Then, release the appropriate field unit into all of the important locations (as indicated on the map at the kiosk).
of 10: In the canyon biotope, have the rocky field unit explore the caverns, the pit, and the crater. In the marine biotope, send the aquatic field unit to each of the jellycorals that the game recognizes (the four in the front). In the bogforest, release the tropical field unit in each of the four tunnels in the tree.
of 10: As Crusher sort of suggests, you can then use the bioprobe from the lab on the field units to extract a total of 11 samples. Use the probe on the field units once for every location that they visited.
of 10: Scan all of these samples with the sonic scope, and then you should be finished with your explorations.
