Star Trek: Hidden Evil Hints
How do I use the training level?
There are just two things to practice in the training level.
The first is how to use the Vulcan Nerve Pinch. Try it several times, so you can get an idea of how to use it. First, you must press #4 (on the main keyboard) to activate the mode. Next, sneak up on your opponent. Your opponent must be a humanoid, and you must approach from the back. You have to be stopped before you apply the technique -- that is, you can no longer be walking or running. Also, you can't be too close or too far away or it won't work. Try this several times by restarting the game until it works well for you. You will need the technique later.
After that, try using phaser fire to bring down the drones. Notice how the fine pointing is done for you, and how the target is marked when it is first acquired, and then fully acquired. You need to get this timing down pretty well. Also practice covering the area into which the drones will move. If you always are turning to track them, it is hard to get a good lock. This skill will be often used in the game as well.
