1 of 7: In any sliding tile puzzle, there is no single "best" solution. Much will depend on how far ahead you can plan, as you move the tiles.
2 of 7: The following solution is based on a numbering scheme that uses the numbers 1-9 to represent the nine squares of the puzzle. In addition, the full solution is broken into four separate hints, so that you may choose to partially solve the puzzle using the solution below, but then continue on your own to the complete solution. Reading to the final clue will provide the entire step-by-step solution.
3 of 7: Number the tiles from 1 to 9, starting at the top left, and working across each row, and down to the bottom right (just as you would read a book). Then, click on the each numbered square, as indicated in the steps below.
