Still Life Hints
I can't get it! Just give me the solution.
of 8: The solution depends on the pieces being in their original position. There is no way to reset this puzzle, so you will either need to be at the beginning of the puzzle, or have a game save before starting to move the rings and key pieces around.
of 8: To follow the solution below, we'll number the rows and columns, and their associated "handle". Number the rows from 1-3, counting from top to bottom (and only counting the rows that have "handles" that can move them horizontally). Number the columns from 1-3, counting from left to right (and only counting the columns that have "handles" that can move them vertically).
of 8: The solution will be presented in several parts, so that you can begin working through the problem, but leave the clues and work on your own, once you have progressed as far as you wish using these clues. Following them to the end will provide a full solution to the puzzle.
of 8: For the sake of shorthand, the solution will refer to each of the row and column movements using three characters for each movement. The first character will be a "R" or "C", to identify a Row or Column. The second character will be a number from 1 to 3, to indicate which Row or Column to move. And the third character will be either "L" or "R" (for a row) or "U" or "D" (for a column), specifying to move the Row either Right or Left, or the Column either Up or Down. Thus, "R3R" indicates to move Row 3 Right; and "C1U" specifies a movement of Column 1 Up.
of 8: Solution - Step 1: R3R, C3D, R3L, C3U, C2D, R3L, C2U, C1D, R3R, C1U. At this point, the three key pieces have been moved up one row.
of 8: Solution - Step 2: R2R, C3D, R2L, C3U, C2D, R2L, C2U, C1D, R2R, C1U. At this point, the three key pieces have been moved to the top row.
of 8: Solution - Step 3: C1U, C2U, C3U. At this point, the three key pieces are in position to be inserted into the lock.
of 8: Solution - Final step: Click the handle to the left of the three key pieces to insert the key into the lock, open the door, and begin a fairly lengthy cut-scene that will end Chapter 6 and begin Chapter 7.
