Still Life 2 Hints
GOAL: "Open the door to McPherson's cell"
of 15: Okay, this one can be very tricky, and you're not given much help. But don't worry, the killer isn't coming back any time, soon so you have plenty of time to work it out.
of 15: The doors all have locks on them -- security code locks, to be exact.
of 15: Speak with Anderson, and he will tell you that he saw the killer enter the first and last numbers of your cell's code, which were a 4 and a 5 respectively.
of 15: Speak with Vic too, and she will tell you the names that were linked to yours and hers on the killer's computer. Yours was linked to "Martin", and hers was linked to "Stanton".
of 15: So, the code for your door has to relate to the name "Martin", and it also has to start with a 4 and end with a 5. It's going to be six digits long, as "Martin" is.
of 15: To open Vic's door, you're going to need to work out how the names translate into the numbers, and the way to do that is to check on your own cell.
of 15: One clue I can give you is to ignore the zeroes on the combination locks. You won't be using them at all.
of 15: If A = 1, and B = 2, etc, it might work. But, then surely M would be 13, since it's the thirteenth letter of the alphabet.
of 15: Perhaps the numbers loop around again once they get to 9?
of 15: So, A = 1, B = 2, etc, until I = 9, then J would equal 1 again. What would this system name M and N?
of 15: An M would be 4, and an N would be 5. Perfect! Use the same system to work out the rest of the name Martin.
of 15: The code to your door is 419295. Enter it on your door to check it out. It works!
of 15: Now, use the same cipher to work out the code to Vic's door, using the seven-digit name Stanton.
of 15: The code to Vic's door is in the next hint:
