2 of 15: Take a look at the controls. In particular, figure out how to set the destination of the ship first.
3 of 15: Go to the right of the wheel. You'll find a star chart here.
4 of 15: Notice that it wants a destination skyscape.
5 of 15: So give it one.
6 of 15: Give it the photograph of the sky near your home.
7 of 15: That's not the end of the process, though. You need to use the view of the sky in that picture to help the ship figure out where your home is located on its galactic map.
8 of 15: You can do so by matching stars on the photograph with the stars on the galactic map. An icon in your PET will allow you to change between the two modes.
9 of 15: Try clicking on one of the stars in the photograph, and switch back to the map.
10 of 15: That star will be highlighted somewhere on the map. Use the keyboard controls described in your manual (or just move the mouse off the center of the map) to scan for the star. If you can't find it easily, you might want to go back to the photograph and pick another star and try again. I personally stayed in one place in the map and then tried different stars on the photograph until I found one in that one section of the map -- I found this easier than searching over the whole map for a single star.
11 of 15: Once you find the star, move so that the crosshair in the display is close to the marker for the star. One of the green lights should start flashing, and a line will appear between the crosshair and diamond. Lock that coordinate on your map with the "L" key. You should notice that one of the three lights in your PET lights up.
12 of 15: Get the other two lights to light up as well.
13 of 15: Find two more stars in the same manner. I found it easier to choose two more stars close to the first one on the photograph.
14 of 15: Once you have three stars, you're ready to go. Just press the "set destination" button and take the wheel.
15 of 15: Then exit the map and select "Go" on the wheel, and you will be taken home.
