Star Trek: Judgment Rites Hints
How can I break through the door to room 7?
of 23: As always, talk to Scotty for some suggestions. He'll be most useful if you talk to him while you're in room 5 (adjacent to room 7).
of 23: If you use Scotty on all of the machinery that you can get your hands on, you should find the parts to make his high-tech tennis ball cannon.
of 23: This cannon should shoot out iron.
of 23: And magnets work well with iron.
of 23: So try putting together a magnetic "tennis ball cannon."
of 23: You'll first need a place to put everything.
of 23: The aurora generator looks like a good spot.
of 23: Now you need something that's obviously magnetic.
of 23: Try the magnetic clamps from the docking ring in room 6. Put them on the generator.
of 23: But you still need a quick discharge of power.
of 23: The capacitors, once charged, will provide one. See another section of this file if you need help with the capacitors.
of 23: You're still going to need a stronger magnetic field than what you have now.
of 23: Electric currents can also generate magnetic fields.
of 23: So find something that can handle a strong electric current.
of 23: Like superconducting wires.
of 23: The robot in room 6 has some. See another question if you need help with the robot.
of 23: Then use the wires on the clamps.
of 23: And of course you'll need an iron projectile.
of 23: Put the lance from the knight in the curator's office on the current setup.
of 23: Finally, find a way of controlling this cannon.
of 23: There's a control panel behind the generator. Look for a way to connect it to the cannon.
of 23: Use the interface cable from the Vulcan computer on either the control panel or the cannon. You should be ready to go now.
of 23: Just use Scotty on the control panel to launch your lance into the door.
