Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Hints

How can I solve the murder mystery?

  • 1 of 22: You get this quest from Bolook, in the grove area. Note that there is no Dark or Light Side solution to this quest.
  • 2 of 22: There is a rather specific path you have to take through this quest.  Here is the basic path of dialogue and actions you must do to get to the answer...
  • 3 of 22: First speak with the information droid and get as much information as you can.
  • 4 of 22: Then, interview the two suspects thoroughly, talking to both of them twice, and you will get both of their alibis.
  • 5 of 22: Once you've done that, speak to Bolook again, and tell him you want to discuss the murder.
  • 6 of 22: The correct response should be pretty evident from the dialogue choices.
  • 7 of 22: Tell him Rickert is lying, since there was obviously no sun glare to blind him due to it being cloudy.
  • 8 of 22: Once you've reached that conclusion, go back to the information droid and get more information on the two suspects.
  • 9 of 22: Interview both of the suspects concerning their relationship to the victim -- try being accusatory and see how they react.
  • 10 of 22: You'll find that they both had a grudge against him.
  • 11 of 22: Go talk to Bolook again and discuss the murder.
  • 12 of 22: You can say that either person was lying, and they're both true and make sense (Handon because his wife was cheating on him, Rickert because he thought he was being cheated).
  • 13 of 22: Speak to the information droid again, and learn about the blaster found at the scene.
  • 14 of 22: Then once again interview both suspects about the weapon.
  • 15 of 22: Nobody has a glaring flaw in their alibi, so ask the information droid about the blaster again.
  • 16 of 22: It will reveal that the blaster was never stolen, so Handon is lying. Tell this to Bolook.
  • 17 of 22: You'll have the opportunity to speak with the information droid once more about the blood sample.
  • 18 of 22: Tell Bolook that the blood didn't belong to the victim.
  • 19 of 22: You can say it's Rickert's or Handon's blood because of their injuries, and Bolook will accuse that one.
  • 20 of 22: However, for the correct solution, stop Bolook.
  • 21 of 22: Tell him both are guilty, and give him the motivation that you didn't tell him before.
  • 22 of 22: He will agree with you, and fill in the gaps in the case. You'll get a lot of XP, and Bolook will take the criminals to the enclave.
