Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Hints
Light Side Powers
1 of 6: As a Light Side jedi, you'll probably be relying pretty heavily on force powers to make life easier for you. Light Side powers in general are designed to enhance your character and provide you with great benefits in combat, rather than to directly damage your enemies like the Dark Side.
2 of 6: If you took the Scoundrel->Consular path that I recommended, then your most useful force power will be the Stun/Stasis line of powers. These completely freeze your enemies, and allow you to get bonus sneak attack damage on them. This line of powers is an absolute must, and should be grabbed as soon as possible. Stasis field is amazing when you have a high wisdom.
3 of 6: Almost equally useful is Force Heal. This will immediately heal you for a fair number of life, and will cure you of all those unfortunate poisons. You will be using this a lot. Even dark jedi would find this useful.
4 of 6: For combat enhancement, you can't beat Force Valor. When it is raised all the way, you get a huge +5 bonus to your stats and saving throws. This makes you a LOT more effective in combat, and makes your force powers much more difficult to resist. It's not essential at the beginning of the game, but becomes important when you start fighting more powerful dark jedi.
5 of 6: Other powers that are more useful for a Light Side character are the Force Push line of powers, the Force Speed line of powers (hey, it gets you two extra attacks), and eventually Force Resistance/Immunity. These will all make your life much easier in combat. Force Wave is a great crowd clearing power, and Force Speed is great for quickly dispatching enemies. These aren't quite so essential as other powers, but they are certainly big.
6 of 6: Just a tip, you may also want to take one Dark Side damage power, or at least throw lightsaber. You'll probably only use it once, but you will be happy you have it.
