Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords Hints

How can I help Zherron out with the kinrath problem?

  • 1 of 10: Find him in the militia HQ room in the Khoonda building and ask him about work.
  • 2 of 10: He'll say that the kinrath creatures have become a real danger lately, and he wants you to put an end to the problem.
  • 3 of 10: Just killing the kinraths running around in the plains and Enclave courtyard areas won't do it -- you need to enter the crystal cave (SE corner of the eastern plains section) and kill off the kinrath matriarch.
  • 4 of 10: TIP: You can fight all the kinrath in the cave for XP, retreating to heal up when necessary, but there's a quicker way. When the path first branches, head east to find Ahrnell, a merc who has a special scent glad that prevents the kinrath from attacking him. Talk to him and persuade him to tell you about the gland and to let you hold it, then insist on keeping it. (However, the gland doesn't work very well, and keeping it will get you at least one Dark Side point.)
  • 5 of 10: TIP: Mandalorian melee shields and the Force Barrier power can be of great help in surviving kinrath battles. Also, items that cure or protect against poison are useful, since some kinraths can poison you. (Note that you can buy melee shields and antidote kits from Adum Larp in the Khoonda building. Also, you or Bao-Dur can make melee shields at any workbench.)
  • 6 of 10: When you reach the back of the cave where all the Force crystals are, the kinrath matriarch and many of her guards will attack. Be sure to keep your melee shield up during this tough battle!
  • 7 of 10: TIP: Try to dodge the matriarch long enough to finish off the hatchlings, then make a run for it. You can regenerate health and force points as you run away from the matriarch. Also, if she gets interested in fighting your companions, you can hit her with an adhesive grenade and then more grenades or Force attacks (you can always heal your companions later).
  • 8 of 10: After it's over, search the matriarch's remains plus the searchable crystal formations for crystals.
  • 9 of 10: TIP: It's *very* important that you search the yellow-greenish "glowing crystal formation" to find the special crystal that has your name on it. When you talk to Kreia next, ask her about it to get it fully attuned to you. (Repeat this whenever you level up, too.)
  • 10 of 10: After you're done with all that, report back to Zherron to get your reward for ending the kinrath threat.
