Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords Hints
Activating the Cheats
To enable the ~ key for entering cheats, you need to edit the SWKOTOR2.INI file in the game's install directory (which is usually something like "\Program Files\LucasArts\SWKotOR2" on your hard drive). Use a program like Microsoft Notepad to edit the file, and add the following line right after the "[Game Options]" line:
EnableCheats=1
Now when you run the game, you can press ~, enter a cheat code from the code lists, and then press ENTER to activate it. No actual console window will appear, so you'll have to type blind.
Note that pressing ~ will remove your ability to control your character until you press ENTER, but it won't pause the game. If you're in a combat situation, it's best to pause the game with the SPACEBAR before pressing ~ and entering any codes.
Also note that any saved game you make after using any kind of cheat will have "CHEAT USED" in big yellow letters in the center of its snapshot. However, you can get around that with the turbo and infiniteuses cheats. Load your saved game and use those two cheats, and then load the same saved game again. If you save now, you won't be tagged as using cheats, but you'll still be able to run around super-fast and use limited-use items forever. Unfortunately, most cheats are not "persistent" like those two are, and this trick therefore won't work with them.
