Syberia Hints
General Tips
Syberia is an adventure game that leads you through four places: Valadilene, the charming small town in the French Alps; Barrockstadt, the fascinating old university; Komkolzgrad, the abandoned Russian factory; and Aralbad, the once classy spa resort in the former Soviet Union.
Each location has its set of puzzles that you must solve before moving to the next city. The story line of the game is more or less linear. You may walk around in one place relatively freely (unless locked doors are there to be opened first) and in any order, but solving the puzzles often requires you to follow a certain sequence (e.g., you need to solve puzzle A in order to open door B and meet and talk to character C before you can solve puzzle D).
You need to collect every possible object you find, and find out how and where to use them. The puzzles are not difficult; the story line will help you figuring them out. You need to talk to other characters. Not all the conversations are obligatory, but you never know, so talk to everyone about every possible subject you find in your Dialogue Notebook. Sometimes you need to go back to the same person several times to gain more information.
Kate has a cell phone. She often gets calls and sometimes she is required to call someone. Listen carefully to the conversations, for they might contain clues or valuable information.
Your cursor is a ring that usually highlights when you point it to a possible direction to leave the given screen. However, there are a few times in the game when it doesn't, and you just need to keep walking in one direction that makes sense.
As in any game, you should save your game every once in a while.
