Syberia II Hints

What am I supposed to do with this open window?

  • 1 of 18: Besides look out of it, you mean?
  • 2 of 18: Well, you *are* supposed to do something specific. What have you tried?
  • 3 of 18: The four panels can be pushed.
  • 4 of 18: And when you've pushed all four, you get a quick shot of the opposite wall of the library, where the light from this window falls.
  • 5 of 18: Obviously, something is supposed to happen over there when you've pushed the panels in the right order.
  • 6 of 18: And when you go clockwise, the iris in the center opens to that size on the last panel you push. End with the full moon and it's fully open, for example.
  • 7 of 18: Iris ... what does that remind me of?
  • 8 of 18: The iris in your eye?
  • 9 of 18: Or the iris in the Mammoth's eye, perhaps?
  • 10 of 18: It's hard to tell from the graphic, but that stained glass mammoth you got from the eavesdropping monk is big, the same size as this window.
  • 11 of 18: Open the iris completely by pressing the panels in this order: right, bottom, left, top
  • 12 of 18: Zoom in to look out the window, then use the stained glass mammoth on the view.
  • 13 of 18: Now you have to focus the iris, like adjusting a camera lens.
  • 14 of 18: Like the lens of a pinhole camera, that is.
  • 15 of 18: You want the smallest possible opening. Close the iris to the 3/4 moon by pressing the panels in this order: bottom, left, top, right.
  • 16 of 18: Look at the shape of the shadows thrown by the newly focused light.
  • 17 of 18: It's a mammoth, just like Hans's elegant line-drawing in Syberia 1. At the eye of the mammoth is an architectural feature.
  • 18 of 18: Go down the spiral till you reach the other medallion and press it.
