Queens Puzzle (Pool Room)

  • 1 of 10: There are many, many possible solutions to this puzzle, so I won't even try to list all of the combinations.
  • 2 of 10: One general rule is to avoid any sort of pattern to your placement of the queens.
  • 3 of 10: The game will automatically remove queens that are in the wrong location. Sometimes you can put down a queen in a location that will remove several other queens at the same time.  I found that looking for such spots and putting queens in them will save you from running into problems at the end of the puzzle.
  • 4 of 10: At first, random placement will work, even if you accidentally put two queens in the same row/column/diagonal.  Of course, you'll have to replace any queens that are killed, but you shouldn't worry too much about the placement of the queens at the start.
  • 5 of 10: Once you get down to your last two or three queens, it's probably best to think out your moves before you make them.  If you're going to cause two queens to conflict with each other, make sure that you have a new location for the queen that gets killed.  And if all else fails, put a queen somewhere where it's going to cause trouble and then worry about replacing the queens that are lost.
  • 6 of 10: Read on for the position of the queens in one solution, two at a time.
  • 7 of 10: A4, B2
  • 8 of 10: C7, D3
  • 9 of 10: E6, F8
  • 10 of 10: G1, H5
