Tales of Monkey Island Hints
How do I get the Wise Turtle artifact?
of 11: LeChuck is the key to finding this one. He's in the jungle on Spoon Isle.
of 11: To find LeChuck, start at the beach and go into the jungle, then right (past the Fishing Well), up left, left (past the barbecue), left, up right, and left to the cliff.
of 11: What needs to happen here seems pretty obvious, given the clamshell locks and so on; however, LeChuck is new to the whole adventure game milieu and wants to solve it all himself. But he will let you give him hints. (Why does this scenario seem so familiar?)
of 11: Ask him what he has in inventory to discover that he has a lever like yours, but it's missing the large ball in the claw that yours has. We need to fix that.
of 11: Now you're going to need to give LeChuck some very obvious and leading hints, nothing like the subtle and tricksy hints I give. (*cough*) First, figure out the action that should be taken.
of 11: First, obviously, he needs to combine the pearl and the lever. So offer to help him, and tell him to --
of 11: -- "use," "pearl," "claw thingie." Next, he needs to use the lever in the clamshell. Guybrush's hint for this is to --
of 11: -- "use" "MerFolk key" "clamshell lock." Go use your claw thingie on the other clamshell lock to open the chest. Awesome! Now all you have to do is get the artifact out of its place.
of 11: Which is easier said than done, given Guybrush's cheesestraw arms. Even with the use of the prying tool, he can't manage it. But hey, LeChuck clearly has more muscles than brains; maybe he could help here.
of 11: Give LeChuck the prying tool, and he'll remove the artifact --
of 11: -- and accidentally (maybe) knock Guybrush off the cliff. Go right from the rubble to find LeChuck and retrieve the artifact.
