How do I find LeChuck's spell?
1 of 18: Galeb said the spell was in a vile treasure box. Let's assume that means it stinks.
2 of 18: What you want when you need to track an item by its smell is a dog.
3 of 18: Use the boat to return to the Gateway and pick up that dog.
5 of 18: At the far right of this area, there's a rancid sock of LeChuck's that the Thief is more than happy to give you. Combine the sock and the dog in inventory, and you're ready to start hunting.
6 of 18: To get started, go to Treasure Huntt and use the scent-primed dog on the Ground Full of Xs. And he's off and running --
7 of 18: -- away, doggone it. Where did he go?
8 of 18: There aren't that many places; try them all. You'll find him --
9 of 18: -- at the Crossroads, where he's barking at Galeb -- who clearly knows more than he's saying. Time for some torture!
10 of 18: Use the sock on Galeb, and the dog will dig up the vile chest for you. Aha! But how to get the chest open?
11 of 18: Who have you met who has a way with locks and such?
12 of 18: Go to the Thieves' Den and give the chest to the Thief. He makes short work of it, but --
13 of 18: -- steals the spell, as you might have expected. You can even see him kicking it into the pile of spells behind him.
14 of 18: It's not that hard to distract the Thief for a short spell (just select the first conversation option), but it would take you an hour to find it in that pile. You need a better nose than yours.
15 of 18: Distract the Thief, then use the dog on the pile of spells. Grab a sextant, and the Thief will escort you out; meanwhile the dog runs off with the spell --
16 of 18: -- and disappears again. Grrrr! This time you'll find him --
17 of 18: -- at Treasure Hunt, where he's buried the spell. Well, he buried it, he can just unbury it again.
18 of 18: Pick up the dog and use him on Ground Full of Xs, and he will FINALLY dig it up for you. Phew!
