How do I get Laurie to show up?

  • I'll give you this one for free.
    - Start a new game.
    - Turn around and try to open the front door.
    - Turn to the right and pick up a map.
    - Look down at the guest book.
    - Look up, turn right, and as you start to head into the room she'll appear.

    This is how most of the interactions in the game go: you enter a room or take an action, and suddenly your cursor disappears and a short scene plays out.
