What is a plasmid?
Read the yellow note on the cabinet; it's information you need.
In the real world, a plasmid is something to do with DNA; in the context of this game, it's a ball of plasma, a floating crackling basketball-shaped lightning bolt that will electrocute you if it gets near you. Not nice. As the note says, they occur spontaneously and can't pass the electronic defense gates shown. If you hear a loud crackling, run for the nearest gate ... or just get out of the thing's way. They don't move fast, but they're often faster than you. I'll warn you about the places where I know they happen.
