Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure Hints
How do I get to the second floor?
of 9: The elevators are blocked, so you need the stairs --
of 9: -- but the stairs are blocked by proximity mines embedded in what looks like razor wire. Nasty!
of 9: The answer to fixing this problem is in Maintenance, at the far left corner of the atrium. You might find it easier to reach it by going right, though, because the mines are a little sparser on that side.
of 9: In the center of the room is a station that Tex says controls the maintenance mechs, those flying drone-y things hanging above it. Drone, huh?
of 9: If you could get them working, seems like a drone would be an ideal thing to use to set off a bomb from a safe distance. Tex says it needs a battery, so let's look for one.
of 9: In fact, there's one very close by. Look for a janitor's closet in this area.
of 9: After you go "ewww" for a bit, look for the battery on a shelf in the middle of the yuck.
of 9: Place that battery in the mech station, and the now-functioning screen confirms that this is what you want -- it says it's ready to send a maintenance drone up to the second floor. Click on the "launch" button, and --
of 9: -- boom! The stairs are now free, though you still need to be careful to avoid gaping holes in the stairs.
