Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure Hints
How often should I save?
The game will autosave for you at regular intervals and when you leave the game, and you can do a quick save by pressing F5 whenever you want; however, I would also recommend creating named saves at least once a game day. There are a lot of surprising dangers around seemingly innocuous corners, and there are a couple of places where you suddenly have to make critical decisions that can change the way the game plays out, so you need to be able to go back sometimes.
You should also know that when you load a saved game, you'll be dropped at the starting point for that location rather than the exact spot where you were when you saved. If you were anywhere in Tex's apartment, for example, the load will put you standing at his door. This means it does you no good to save half-way through a dangerous situation (such as the lasers in Day 8); save before you start, then wait till you're all the way through and into a new location before you save again. On the other hand, this also means that if you're in the middle of a dangerous situation that you've already solved and you just want to get out (such as the bees on Day 9), you can just save and reload, and you'll be popped out to the entrance with your achievement intact.
