Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure Hints
How do I accumulate points?
1 of 4: As the intro to the game says, getting a high score is a matter of being painstakingly thorough in your investigation. More specifically, you get points by -- -- Clicking on everything that has an eye icon -- Looking at everything in your inventory before you use it, including items you just combined -- In rooms full of photos, clicking on every photo -- Collecting
-- Solving puzzles without skipping -- Asking every green subject when you talk to someone
2 of 4: You lose points by -- -- Using hints -- Skipping puzzles -- Dying, which tends to happen a lot, especially during days 8 and 9
3 of 4: You never get to see your actual point score, but you can track your score in general by looking at the light bulbs on the right side of the save/load screen. You start with one light bulb and add more as you add points.
4 of 4: When you reach the far right, that's Hard-Boiled Detective, and that's as good as it gets. It's worthwhile to continue adding points, though, because the game gets more dangerous as it goes along, and you want to have a large pool of points to absorb the points you're about to lose when you die repeatedly (sigh).
