Team Fortress Classic Hints
What should I disguise myself as?
1 of 6: Obviously, the other team.
2 of 6: Never leave your base as a spy or disguised as the other team. Always disguise your skin first, then run out of the base and change colors on the fly.
3 of 6: Look at who is playing as what on the other team. If there are two HWGuys, for example, dress as an HWGuy. (If there was only one and you came across him, he might figure out that you are an imposter since he knows he is the only one.)
4 of 6: When heading for higher levels of areas, especially sniper positions, dress as a sniper. No one will think twice about a sniper heading for a sniper position.
5 of 6: Same goes for heading for the flag. Dress as a medic or an engineer. Since medics often head towards the flag to heal players on defense and engineers usually set up their sentry guns near the flag, most players will ignore you.
6 of 6: When in disguise, your player information is disguised as well. Hence, when an enemy moves his crosshairs over you, he sees the name of one of his teammates. Again, if he is the only HWGuy on his team, the name he sees will more than likely be his own, tipping him off as to who you really are. The same thing may happen if you disguise yourself as a player class unrepresented in the other team's roster.
