Team Fortress Classic Hints
I can't even make it out of my base!
1 of 8: You have two choices:
2 of 8: Make a mad dash before the snipers have a chance to set up, or...
3 of 8: Give your bodyguards a chance to set up initial defenses.
4 of 8: If they are just running off, give them a talking to (nicely) and you might get the defense you need.
5 of 8: Tell them appropriate places to cover, like the vent or the sewers. Grab a few to stick by you. Usually a medic, an HWGuy, and a few soldiers works well for this. Send the rest out to help secure the Main Road.
6 of 8: Report the route you plan to take so that bodyguards aren't guarding other areas for no reason.
7 of 8: If all of the snipers are nested on top of Building 1, try taking the vent route to give them a surprise. Sometimes snipers can get a little too comfortable by picking you off from the top of Building 1 each time you exit the base. By taking the vent route, you force some of the snipers to leave their Building 1 nest to cover the vent.
8 of 8: Sometimes just waiting for the snipers to grow impatient works as well. Hide in the shadows and wait for them to pass you by, then run. This is definitely a last-chance resort though.
