The Longest Journey Hints

How do I wake up Q'aman?

  • 1 of 12: Don't worry about Q'aman until you know about him.  If you haven't been told about him, then you need to explore some more.
  • 2 of 12: You have to send Q'aman a wake-up call.
  • 3 of 12: You need to find something that can talk loudly enough for Q'aman to hear.
  • 4 of 12: The volcano can talk to the entire island, but you need to find out how to make the volcano talk.
  • 5 of 12: Use the statues to do so.
  • 6 of 12: The statues on the island listen either to you or to another statue, and they then pass a message onto another statue or to the volcano.
  • 7 of 12: Talk into one statue, and make it "talk" to the volcano.
  • 8 of 12: But not every statue can "talk" directly to the volcano.  And not every statue can be talked into.  You've got to direct the message through many statues.
  • 9 of 12: Do this by having one statue talk to second, with the second statue listening to the first.  Then, have the second statue talk to a third, with that third statue listening to the second, and so on, until you can get the message to the volcano.
  • 10 of 12: Do you want the solution?  If so, read ahead.
  • 11 of 12: Get the message sent from the big tree, to the cliff, to the ruins, and finally to the volcano.
  • 12 of 12: Set the statue under the big tree to listen to itself and talk to the statue on the cliff.  Set the statue on the cliff to listen to the statue under the big tree, and make it talk to the statue in the ruins.  Set the statue in the ruins to listen to the statue on the cliff, and to talk to the head on the volcano.  Set the volcano to listen to the ruins.  You can now talk to the statue at the big tree to wake up Q'aman.
