The Moment of Silence Hints
General Gameplay Tips
1 of 7: One thing that can be very confusing is that most areas have more than one screen or view to them, and you switch views by walking around in the area. It's easy to think you've seen every view an area has before you really have, so always explore carefully by walking toward every edge of every view to see if you can get a new one.
2 of 7: Also, it can often be a problem to get Peter to go where you want him to. Besides the above-mentioned problem of multiple views per area, there's also the fact that many areas (even wide-open ones) have only a few little predetermined invisible paths that Peter can move along. It may look like he could walk around just about anywhere, but you'll soon discover that he can't. Clicking on where you want him to go is your best bet, but that doesn't always work, either. You may have to click around in several places to move him there bit by bit.
3 of 7: Always explore everywhere you can and left- and right-click on every item that registers as interactive when you point the cursor at it. If an interactive item yields no response at all when you left- and right-click on it, then you'll probably need to use an inventory item on it at some point.
4 of 7: This game has a very well developed dialogue component, and you can often only make progress by talking to someone about certain things. Always exhaust every dialogue option you can get, since there are no "wrong" dialogues that'll get you killed or make any puzzle unsolvable.
5 of 7: Try talking to people again after you've gone and done other things, since they'll often have new dialogue topics based on what's happened. Also, you can sometimes get new topics just by ending a dialogue and then starting it again right away.
6 of 7: The H key can be very useful in finding important things. Press it and hold it to first reveal all exits from the current area, and hold it down longer to reveal important things to click on and people to talk to. (Note that if an item isn't visible on the current view, the symbol for it will have an arrow pointing you toward it.)
7 of 7: You can download a version 1.01 game patch at http://www.momentofsilence.com/mos_en_update.exe. I never had any problems with the unpatched version, but if you do, get the patch.
