How do I win this game?
1 of 9: This is a mathematical game.
2 of 9: You want to play so that your opponent will be unable to reach 13.
3 of 9: A few rounds will show you that whoever lands on 10 controls who lands on 13.
4 of 9: Because if you're on 10, the other guy can only land on 11 or 12 -- and if he lands on 11 you put down 2 and reach 13, and if he lands on 12 you put down 1 and land on 13.
5 of 9: Extrapolate backwards from that.
6 of 9: The one who lands on 7 controls who lands on 10.
7 of 9: The one who lands on 4 controls who lands on 7.
8 of 9: And the one who lands on 1 -- well, you get the idea.
9 of 9: So put down one pumpkin on your first turn, then contrive to land on 4, 7, 10, and 13.
