Planescape: Torment Hints
Classes
There are three classes you can become throughout the game: Thief, Fighter, and Mage.
Thief: This class is useful for finding traps and picking locks but the only thing that would make this a desirable class is backstab. You can become a thief by talking to Ratbone, in Ragpicker's Square.
Fighter: This is a strong class and is useful in most all situations. Fighters are strong and can use most every weapon. You can get a lot of fighters in your group, however, so there is no strong advantage to being a fighter. You start out the game as a fighter. If you talk to Dak'kon after he is in your group he will teach you as a fighter.
Mage: In my opinion, this is the best class for the Nameless One. You can never get a very strong mage in the group except for Dak'kon, and he is better used as a fighter. The mage can best be used for mass destruction and weakening strong opponents. Mebbeth, also in Ragpicker's Square, can make you a mage. Dak'kon will train you as a mage also, but only if you have been trained as a mage once before and he is in your group.
