What is "Factoring Shelley's stones" trying to tell me?

  • 2 of 19: Read the book on the bed to discover more.
  • 3 of 19: Shelley is one of the characters in the book.  Gil is trying to tell you that something about Shelley is important.
  • 4 of 19: You'll need another clue to figure out what, exactly, is important about Shelley.
  • 5 of 19: Gil told Troy the clue -- and asked him to give it to you.
  • 6 of 19: If you read Troy's journal, you might be able to figure out what he did with the clue.
  • 7 of 19: Read Troy's entry for January 11.
  • 8 of 19: Troy didn't want anyone else to get credit for the work he's been doing, so he tried to destroy Gil's clue.
  • 9 of 19: Troy tried to flush the clue down the toilet.
  • 10 of 19: Look in the toilet for a note that says, "Shelley's been abducted?".
  • 11 of 19: Gil wants us to know that something about Shelley's abduction is important.  
  • 12 of 19: Read the book to learn about Shelley's abduction.
  • 13 of 19: In particular, you should be looking for information regarding the location of the abduction.
  • 14 of 19: Read pages 293 and 295.
  • 15 of 19: Page 293:  "They took their time walking out to Shelley's favorite place, that magical Trilithon."  Then, later in the scene, on page 295:  "Shelley had been abducted".
  • 16 of 19: Hmm....  Something about Shelley's favorite trilithon is important.
  • 17 of 19: See if you can learn which stones, in particular, were Shelley's favorites.
  • 18 of 19: On page 278, it says, "She (Shelley) sat down and leaned against her favorite Trilithon; the western-most Trilithon."
  • 19 of 19: So, Gil's cryptic clues are actually trying to tell us that the western-most trilithon is an important clue.
